One of the country’s leading providers of table football is coming to Groby for a day in June, right in the middle of the World Cup, and everyone is invited to take part in the fun. The event will have six tables, enabling up to 24 people to play at one time, and will be under cover so the weather will not stop play.

There’ll be the opportunity for teams to enter a tournament, and at the end of the day Groby will know who the local champions are.

The company that will be bringing the game to the village for a day has a website overflowing with glowing testimonials such as this one from Manchester City Council : “I recently used Goalden Events for a Funday and they were fantastic. The staff are reliable, professional, polite and engaging. Their football tables were a great attraction for older children, whilst accommodating all ages throughout the day. The competitions were well organised and the awards were really well received. I would definitely recommend their services and will be using them

  • a World Cup table football marquee, comprising a 12m x 3m marquee
  • 6 football tables
  • flags of some of the competing countries
  • two staff referees in attendance.

The Table Football Marquee will be open to all for casual use over the day, but there will be regular World Cup 2018 knockouts with prizes such as winners T-shirts, footballs, flags etc.

The emphasis of the knockouts is fast-paced fun and maximum use of the equipment. The competitions will be a straight knockout format, and there will be several held over the course of the day. There is always an element of “off the cuff” with these events due to the variables like weather and attendance numbers so it will be decided on the day which format best suits the occasion.

There will also be regular “Beat The King” challenges, through which prizes can be won. The “King” is none other than the very experienced Richard Smith who set up Goaldenevents 15 years ago. “ I have worked in locations as diverse as Premier League clubs and Champions League matches to children’s parties and plenty more.” explained Richard. “I am based in Lichfield and travel the country working at all kinds of events.”
