2019 – Another Successful Street Fair
At the opening of the 2019 Groby Street Fair Local MP Edward Argar reminded residents that although the news may seem to be all doom and gloom, up and down the country life was improved by local community events such as the Street Fair. He thanked the organisers and all the other volunteers whose hard work who helped make the day a success.
Attendance was high from the time the gate opened and by the early afternoon Markfield Road and the Church lawn was buzzing with residents enjoying a break from the news, just as Edward Argar suggested.

The Markfield Road from the Leicester Road/Markfield Road/Ratby Road junction was closed for the day on 23rd June 2019.
It wasa an exciting day full of entertainment, stalls, food and drink. We had over 50 stalls available
(some pitches still available
), selling everything from cakes and cheeses to home made toys, clocks and jewellery and plenty of food and drink all offering a wide selection of mouthwatering dishes.
We were delighted to see all the members of our community at this event, including all the schools, clubs and businesses that have a connection to the village and the surrounding areas.
