The Groby Street Fair will be coming again on Sunday June 24th 2018 after a break in 2017. This event involves most of the village of Groby, from 11am until 6pm.
The Markfield Road from the Leicester Road/Markfield Road/Ratby Road junction will be closed for the day on 24th June 2018.
It will be an exciting day full of entertainment, stalls, food and drink. We have over 50 stalls booked
, selling everything from cakes and cheeses to home made toys, clocks and jewellery, even including Groby’s very own Natural Elements holistic therapists who will be offering some sample healthcare sessions. There will be Caribbean Spice It Up BBQ, Dobsons Delhi, Noodle Horsebox and Alex’s Prosecco and Wine bar all offering a wide selection of mouthwatering food and drink from across the world.
Groby will be holding its very own World Cup Table Football Tournament and teams are invited to take part for as little as £1 per person to see who the local champions are. Richard, the owner of Golden Events is the self confessed undisputed champion of table football, and invites anyone who thinks they are good enough to come and have a go and “Beat the King”.
The Parish church, St Philip and St James’ will be Kindly lending the Street Fair use of the Church to Display our very own commemoration display of the local residents who fought in World War 1 to mark this year’s centenary. They will also be offering refreshments and a short outdoor service.
We would be delighted to see all the members of our community at this event, including all the schools, clubs and businesses that have a connection to the village and the surrounding areas. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at this family inclusive event and we hope that each future year brings continued success to all of Groby, and the Street Fair itself.
Keep a look out on our FB page OR our Village web pages for who what and where it’s all happening.
